Evacuees at the Jokhan Primary School have returned home and the Evacuation Centre has been closed.
While the trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the Fiji group, six roads remain closed in the Central Division, thirteen roads remain closed in the Western Division, thirteen roads remain closed in the Northern Division and a total of twenty roads remain closed in the Eastern Division.
For the Northern Division , the landslide at Nabaci Village’s main highway has been cleared and is now opened to all traffic.
The landslide at Biaugunu Village, Saqani Road has blocked the access to the village and work is underway to clear the debris. This landslide is blocking the traffic from both sides of the road.
At Wainivula Hill, the landslide on the main road to Waivula Hill has blocked both sides of the road [between Navetau Village & Saqani Government Station] and is closed to all traffic.
The Fiji Roads Authority also confirms that the Kings and Queens Road is open to all traffic.
The National Emergency Operation Centre with the assistance of the Fiji Police will continue to monitor vehicle movements.
Meanwhile two families have also escaped injuries following a landslide at Wainiika village in Cakaudrove yesterday.
The families are safe and are now staying with the village headman at Wainiika.
Members of the public are therefore urged to exercise precautionary measures.
