All schools affected by Tropical Cyclone Tomas will have their grants released by next week to assist in their rehabilitation.
While awaiting confirmed numbers from Education Districts, the Ministry is prepared to disburse tuition and boarding grants for these schools.
The Ministry is targeting boarding schools that were affected, as these schools’ plantation and farms would have been severely damaged thus would affect food supplies for students.
With Government setting its priority on education and health, this early disbursement of grants will surely boost our schools’ rehabilitation process and at the same time, ease the return to normal school operations.
