Organisers of the “Tadra Kahani” will have to include the Ministry of Education in the screening processes of the show, or else there will be no more “Tadra Kahani” from next year.
While the Ministry values and appreciates the many wonderful rewards of taking part in this show, it is rather unfortunate that this decision had to be made for the protection of our children.
The decision by the Minister for Education stemmed from the showing of a music video on the first night which was grossly indecent for the children and even parents who were there.
MoE has to be part of the Organising Committee, given the Ministry’s understanding of Fiji’s context, in terms of what is suitable for our students.
Considering the value and the benefits of the program, the Minister will not stop “Tadra Kahani” but is requesting the organisers to abide by this decision- to vet videos and other aspects of the show, which require a screening exercise.
