The Ministry of Education confirms that the following schools reported to their respective District Education Office of their closure today.
These schools were affected by the recent flood.
1. Waidina Secondary
2. Wainimala Secondary School
3. Rewa Secondary School
4. Navuso Primary School
5. Nakini Primary School
6. Nakaikogo Primary School
7. Muaniweni Primary School
8. Naqali Primary School
9. St Joseph Naililili
10. Burebasaga Primary School
School heads should be aware of the necessary arrangements that must be made for the recovery of lost teaching hours.
The Ministry calls on parents, community and committees of these and other affected schools to take the necessary measures so that classes will return to normal.
The Ministry fully sympathises with all these schools, especially at a time when school has just started.
There is hope that with a concerted effort from all stakeholders, classes for the 10 schools should resume in the not too distant future.
