The Ministry of Education wishes to confirm to parents and the general public that there is no change to the beginning of Term 1.
As scheduled, Term 1 begins on Monday, January 25 and not the week after, as some have been unreliably and ill-informed.
A number of parents have been calling the Ministry of Education enquiring on when Term 1 will begin.
Their enquiries emanated from a rumour that school would begin a week after January 25.
Members of the public are warned not to spread false and misleading information, as this would definitely cause havoc amongst education stakeholders, especially our teachers, parents, students and school committees.
There are 14 weeks of school in Term One with school to starting on Monday next week and ends on Friday 30th April, 2010.
Term 2 begins on Monday 17 May and ends on Friday 20 August, 2010. There will be 14 weeks of school in Term 2 as well.
However in Term 3, school starts on Monday 6 of September and ends on Friday 3 December 2010.
Teachers are to report to their respective school heads on Monday January, 25 for staff meetings and briefings.
Similarly, boarders need to be at school on Monday the 25 by 6:00pm in the evening.
Normal Classes will begin on Tuesday 26 January
