Education ministry thanks rotary club

21/06/2011

The Ministry of Education has thanked the Rotary Club Australia and New Zealand for their kind donation towards the construction of a dormitory for girls at Bucalevu Secondary School in Taveuni.

The dormitory has 10 cubicles with four students per cubicle.

Each student has her separate cupboard to keep personal belongings in.

The building is fully tiled with security grills and all toilets and bathrooms include hand basins.

There is a separate washing area for girls to do their laundry.

The total cost of the building is over $150,000.

Not only is the ministry overwhelmed with gratitude, the teachers and students are also grateful for the assistance provided.

Special mention is attributed to Mr Geoffery Amos who with the assistance of local Rotary members with their peers from Australia and New Zealand did a
 marvelous job.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has urged the staff and students of Bucalevu Secondary School to look after the new dormitory well.
