Expect flight delays

19/02/2011

In anticipation of additional delays expected as a result of the weather system now moving through the Fiji Islands, Air Pacific and Pacific Sun request all customers travelling between now and Tuesday, February 22nd to check their website (airpacific.com) or contact the Air Pacific call centre for the latest update on flight information.

Lightning and thunderstorms disrupted several flights from Nadi yesterday and today. Weather-related delays include Air Pacific's Friday evening flight to Honolulu (via Apia) which was delayed by two hours and a number of Saturday morning outbound flights which were impacted by passing storms.

With a tropical storm front projected to pass west of the Fiji Group over the next few days, both airlines expect more flight disruptions.

"We are closely monitoring this weather system, and while we plan to operate all flights as scheduled, customers should be prepared for possible delays. As a result, please check our web site (airpacific.com) or contact our Call Centre for the latest flight information" said Dave Pflieger, Managing Director & CEO of Air Pacific.

The website and call centre for Air Pacific and Pacific Sun operate 24/7, and could be reached at either 3304 388 or 672 0888.
