Expect more rain

19/02/2011

People have been warned to take extra precaution because the Nadi Weather office expects more rain over the whole Fiji group.

The office said a trough of low pressure lies over Fiji, which would bring in rain and thunderstorms today.

The duty forecaster at the office expects the situation to continue tomorrow because the depression located east-northeast of Vanuatu is intensifying.

According to the forecaster, the depression is likely to form into a cyclone in the next 48 hours or by early Sunday.

Heavy falls were recorded in Labasa, Savusavu and the interior of Viti Levu in the past two days due to the active trough over the group.

The depression will pass southwest of Fiji between Sunday and Monday.
