Trade Expos are vehicles to promote products and services of companies, says Investment Fiji’s chief executive officer Ravuni Uluilakeba.
And as Fiji prepares for another trade show within the perimeters of the ‘Engaging with the Pacific’ meeting in Nadi from tomorrow (Thursday, September 1, 2011), Mr Uluilakeba says creating more awareness on the Fijian Made brands will certainly be the highlight.
“Expos are means to promote and showcase our companies’ products and services and their brands and Investment Fiji is more into the Fijian Made brand,” he said.
“We look at expos as a way of branding Fiji as a country with a growing manufacturing sector.”
A good national brand will enhance more product visibility as consumers become more interested in the source or origin of particular products.
“Thus Investment Fiji is very much supportive of the Buy Fijian campaign that was recently launched by the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama,” Mr Uluilakeba said.
“Such exhibitions will definitely help promote products that are produced and manufactured locally .”
And lack of space has forced the intake of the exhibitors to only 10.
“Although the numbers maybe small, the exhibition will showcase a wide range of products and services ranging from furniture to locally manufactured food products, snacks, confectionary, yogurt, pearls, solar and weighing equipment and even locally brewed beer,” Mr Uluilakeba added.
Companies that have confirmed their participation include Goodman Fielder, Cas Scales Limited, Comfort Home Furnishing, Island Brewing Company, Food Processors, Pacific Green, Paradise Technologies, Punja & Sons, Sharma Music Centre and Western Dairy Ltd.
