The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts wishes to reiterate that all schools nationwide will remain closed.
There have been a number of posts on social media platforms recently regarding school re-opening.
Schools will re-open for face to face classes and classroom teaching when we are once again COVID-contained.
Minister for Education, Hon. Rosy Akbar urges parents and students to disregard unofficial comments circulating on social media and follow the announcements made by the Ministry.
“It is rather unfortunate that some people are taking advantage of the current situation and spreading false and misleading information. At a time like this, we need people to support each other, especially our children who are more vulnerable.”
“Providing misleading information will continue to emotionally impact our children who are already affected by the school closure. I urge the public to be a little more sensitive and supportive during these unprecedented times,” Minister Akbar said.
The Ministry will continue to provide correct information to all teachers, students and parents through the media.
Children are once again reminded to stay home and continue practicing good hygiene. Stay home and stay safe.
