The workers and management of the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) have been encouraged to work diligently and come on board with innovative ideas to improve on service delivery to the nation.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Hon. Pio Tikoduadua stressed this at the inaugural FEA Excellence Awards held in Suva last night.
Mr Tikoduadua said in every organisation, human resources play a vital link in the achievement of successful business results.
“No matter where you are in the FEA family or what appointment you hold, you have been chosen to add value to this organisation,” Minister Tikoduadua said.
“I expect nothing less but to see the continued growth of FEA as the lead statutory authority for Government. This requires a collective team effort.”
FEA chief executive officer, Hasmukh Patel said the awards ceremony will broaden the focus on building a stronger team.
“Part of the focus is to ensure increased participation and continued delivery of high performance results. We decided to make a difference together and now we will reflect on our achievements in leading the way for best practices, accepting the challenges and moving with expectations in 2015,” Mr Patel said.
The authority recognised staff for their hard work and commitment to service in three major categories, namely the employees of the quarter (2014), best safety team of the year and the employee of the year award.
Team leader Network Substation, Tariq Bahadur, received the Employee of the Year Award.
Mr Bahadur thanked the Network SBA team, unit leaders and other managers for their support as well as recognising his contribution to the FEA.
