15/07/2014

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama held talks today with the recently accredited Israeli Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Shmuel Ben-Shmuel.

This is Mr Ben-Shumel’s first courtesy call to the Fijian head of Government since he presented his credentials as Israel’s non-resident envoy to Fiji.

They spoke on various issues ranging from areas of cooperation and how the two countries can assist each other including the invitation by Fiji to Israel to send observers for the September 17 General Election.

Earlier on, Ambassador Ben-Shmuel had informed Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Elections, Mr Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum that they were in the process of finalizing the details of sending observers to the elections.
