Office of the Prime Minister acting permanent secretary Naipote Katonitabua today visited Nausori Special School as part of the Fiji Day Celebrations.
Mr Naipote said this year’s Fiji Day celebrations are an opportune time for reflection and to look back and gauge our progress on development.
“As in the past celebrations, we would focus on the younger generation because they are the greatest link in our society,” Mr Naipote said.
“It is through instilling understanding and mutual respect from a young age that one can inspire students to building a better Fiji.”
Mr Naipote highlighted that the objective of this year’s celebrations are to celebrate our achievements, encourage patriotism and nation building and promote hope for the future.
“This includes all the young children at any special education school. I’m representing government to ensure that you are part of the celebration.”
“It does not mean that you are left out. These celebrations are for you, our future leaders and this gift though may look small, but it represents love, care and affection.”
Nausori Special School Head Teacher Sotia Waqanidrola commended Government for their insight towards the inclusion of all Fijians regardless of ethnicity, culture and even for those living with disability.
As part of the celebration Mr Naipote presented the school with gifts as a token of Governments appreciation towards their contribution to national development.
