FIJI GOVERNMENT PRESENTS IREGUREGU TO THE LATE MINISTER FOR AGRICULTURE AND WATERWAYS, HON. VATIMI RAYALU.

The Fiji Government delegation led by the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Public Works, Transport, and Meteorological Services, Hon. Ro Filipe Tuisawau, today (18.06.25) presented its i-reguregu in honour of the late Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Hon. Vatimi Rayalu, at the FMF Gymnasium.

The delegation accorded their respect and tribute to the late minister, expressing heartfelt sympathies and prayers to his family and friends.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs, Hon. Manoa Kamikamica, Acting Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Hon. Siromi Turaga, Minister for Immigration; Hon. Viliame Naupoto, Minister for Policing; Hon. Ioane Naivalurua, Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources; Hon. Filimone Vosarogo, Minister for i-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts; Hon. Iferemi Vasu, Minister for Home Affairs; Hon. Pio Tikoduadua, Minister for Youth and Sports; Hon. Jese Saukuru, Minister for Housing and Local Government; Hon. Maciu Nalumisa, Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations. Hon. Agni Deo Singh, Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Sashi Kiran, Assistant Minister for Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics, Hon. Esrom Immanuel, Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Hon. Penioni Ravunawa and representatives from various government ministries also attended the i-reguregu.

The delegation made special mention of the dedication and outstanding contributions of the late Minister Rayalu, in advancing Fiji’s development during earlier tenures.

The late Minister for Agriculture and Waterway was a dedicated civil servant, having served in several senior positions with the Fijian civil service, contributing to the development and administration of government policies.

He devoted his entire career to the development of Fiji’s agriculture sector, beginning as an agricultural assistant at research stations nationwide and advancing through leadership positions such as Principal Agricultural Officer, Director, Chief Economist, and ultimately serving as Deputy Secretary and Acting Permanent Secretary for Agriculture.
