FIJI GOVERNMENT RECEIVES KEY ICT NETWORK REVIEW UPDATE FROM CONSULTANTS

In a significant step towards enhancing public services through technology, the ICT Consultant, ASTRO from the US presented some of the key findings on the comprehensive review of the government ICT network infrastructure. This presentation, which included key recommendations, focused on several critical areas: Strategic Direction and Architecture & Interoperability, Cloud Adoption & Operations, Governance & Policy, People & Capability, Financial Strategy, and Security & Resilience. 

In delivering his opening remarks, the Acting Director ITC Services, Mr Ponijese Bainimoli, emphasised that the review is not merely a routine assessment but is closely aligned with the National Digital Strategy 2025-2030 launched last year—reflecting a proactive commitment to building a robust digital ecosystem that meets the evolving needs of both government and citizens. 

He further noted that this effort is not only a demonstrating the commitment to meeting our obligations, but also an achievement that will pave the way for future successes in our ongoing digital transformation journey. 

The Minister for Policing and Communications Hon. Ioane Naivalurua had the opportunity to engage with the consultants, receiving updates on the progress of the review after the awareness. Expressing appreciation for the thorough analysis, the Minister emphasised the need for Fiji to align its strategies to drive innovation and improve services to the public 

The government looks forward to the final report and recommendations from the review, which promise to pave the way for a more effective and resilient ICT infrastructure in Fiji.
