Fiji is proud to host the ICC East Asia-Pacific Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2025 — a historic first for our nation and a major milestone for women’s cricket.
Yesterday, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Jese Saukuru, on behalf of the Government, officially welcomed teams from Japan, Indonesia, the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Samoa, and Vanuatu.
Minister Saukuru highlighted that this tournament is more than just competition — it is a celebration of friendship, resilience, and the shared vision to grow women’s cricket across the region.
Ahead of the matches, a legacy program trained local teachers in Criiio cricket and Level 1 umpiring, helping build capacity and inspire future umpires here in Fiji.
The tournament is well underway from today and will run until 15 September.
We wish all teams the very best!
