Fiji reaffirmed its leadership in driving digital transformation and regional cooperation across the Pacific at the Fiji Tech Summit 2025, Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Hon. Filimoni Vosarogo, delivered the keynote address.
Hosted by Datec Fiji in celebration of its 40th anniversary, the two-day event at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa brought together 29 global technology leaders and over 400 delegates under the theme “Unlock the Future: AI, Cybersecurity, Sustainability, Cloud and Digital Transformation.”
Minister Vosarogo highlighted the Government’s National Digital Strategy 2025–2030 as a strong platform for inclusive growth, improved service delivery, and regional cooperation. He commended Datec’s four decades of innovation, describing it as a reflection of Fijian enterprise and national progress.
He shared key milestones achieved during the first year of the strategy, including the rollout of 5G, establishment of the Fiji Computer Emergency Response Team (Fiji CERT), and the completion of the National Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy. He also noted that the National Cybersecurity and Resilience Strategy will soon be presented to Cabinet to further strengthen digital defences across the region.
Looking ahead, Fiji will develop a National Cloud Policy, roll out the National ID, and create a National AI Framework — with the goal of making 80 percent of key government services accessible online and creating 40,000 ICT jobs.
Fiji continues to lead the Pacific’s digital transformation journey, ensuring that every island nation benefits from a smarter, more secure, and sustainable future.
