In the spirit of the Pacific Vuvale, Fiji and the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation during a bilateral meeting held between Fiji’s Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and the RMI’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The meeting took place on the margins of the Fourteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Pacific Community, convened in Nukuʻalofa, Kingdom of Tonga, from 16–17 October 2025.
The Assistant Minister reaffirmed Fiji’s commitment to strengthening collaboration under the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Development Cooperation, focusing on people-to-people links, potential training and upskilling programs, and improved connectivity and economic cooperation as the MOU progresses into its next phase.
Minister Kaneko expressed appreciation for Fiji’s continued support and optimism that bilateral relations will continue to grow through these new initiatives.
Fiji was among the Pacific Island nations gathered in Tonga for the 55th Meeting of the Committee of Representatives of Governments and Administrations (CRGA 55) and the 14th Conference of the Pacific Community, held under the theme “Pasifiki: Rooted in Heritage, Honouring the Past, United for a Resilient Future.”
