FIJI POLICE FORCE GRANTS PERMIT TO METHODIST CHURCH

05/06/2012

The Commissioner of Police has today approved the Methodist Church’s permit application to hold its Annual Church Conference in August as well as the Standing Committee meetings scheduled for June and July.

In granting the approval, Police Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua highlighted that the Methodist Church must exclude those activities that will financially burden its members at the three-day meet such as the bazaar and choir competition.

The approval of the church’s permit application now includes that condition.

The Fiji Police Force fully recognises the importance of the meetings and trusts that the opportunity will be used to bring positive changes for the best interest of the Church members and for all Fijians.

In approving the permit the Fiji Police Force believes that the Methodist Church like any other faith based organization can positively contribute to the future growth and development of the nation in line with Government’s vision for a better Fiji for all.
