FIJI'S PRETORIA MISSION AT DIPLOMATIC FAIR

20/09/2012

Staff of the Fiji High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa were kept busy as they participated in the second Diplomatic Fair for this year on September 14 and 15.

The first fair was held in February.

The Diplomatic Fair is an opportunity to display Fiji's diverse culture, traditions and its range of products. On display at the Fiji booth were products from few companies that responded to the requests for samples.

On display were Fiji Water, Pure Fiji shirts from Robert Kennedy who produces shirts for Tappoos and Moira Solvalu, one of our rising designers.

Fiji’s High Commissioner, Beniamino Salacakau said there was a lot of interest in the Fiji products. Thousands of visitors to the Fiji booth were fascinated by the unique Fiji designs and quality on display.

The designs and material make-up of the tapa was an item of much curiosity. The unique scents of Pure Fiji’s body mist prompted many offers to buy them off our shelves. A number of contacts were made as some businesses showed interest in marketing some of the Fiji products into South Africa.
