FIJI SIGNS MOU WITH BRITISH HIGH COMMISSION FOR THE FIJI TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION

The United Kingdom has pledged its support for the Fiji Truth and Reconciliation Commission through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on Thursday (6.02.25).

The signing ceremony was officiated by the British High Commissioner to Fiji Dr. Brian Jones, and the Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Sashi Kiran, on behalf of the Government of Fiji.

Minister Kiran expressed appreciation for the UK’s support, particularly in media, communications, and capacity-building efforts.

“This partnership strengthens our ability to foster national healing through transparent dialogue and institutional support,” she said.

As part of the agreement, the British High Commission will provide FJD$120,000 to support the Commission’s legal and public relations initiatives from January – March 2025.
