09/12/2024

The Chairman of the Fiji Public Service Commission (PSC) Luke Rokovada met this morning with a visiting delegation from the Office of the Public Service Commission of Vanuatu to discuss digital transformation in the public sector.

The regional visit provided an opportunity to share experiences and best practices for digitally managing the public service.

Today's discussion primarily focused on the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), which the Fijian Government adopted in 2019 as part of its vision to develop a modern, digital government with streamlined and automated human resource processes.

PSC Chairman Rokovada emphasized that regional collaboration is crucial for ongoing learning and mutual support.

The Vanuatu delegation was led by Acting Deputy Secretary Mr. Stephane Bong, Director of the Innovation and Policy Development Unit Mr. Jean Yves Bibi, and Principal HRMIS Officer Mr. Jack Norris Philip.

Mr. Bong noted that they are in the process of developing a new HRMIS, and that Fiji's experience will help their team benchmark their processes.

Discussions also covered the Fijian Civil Service Discipline Guidelines, the Fiji Civil Service Performance Management Framework, and the Fiji Learning Institute for Public Service.
