The new United States of America Ambassador to Fiji, Her Excellency Judith Cefkin paid a courtesy visit to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Ratu Inoke Kubuabola in Suva today.
The Ambassador congratulated Fiji on the successful elections and commended Fiji’s role in the region as the hub of the Pacific. She also expressed United States appreciation for the contributions Fiji makes to the international peace and security through its commitments to peacekeeping operations.
During their meeting, the two also discussed ways in which Fiji and the United States could work towards strengthening their bilateral relations.
Fiji and the USA diplomatic relations dates back to 1971.
