Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has officially opened Fiji's newest embassy in the United Arab Emirates.
The embassy which is based in Abu Dhabi represents the Fijian Government's growing commitment to expanding Fiji's relations with the international community.
This week the head of government was accorded was the "Guest of Government" status by the government of the United Arab Emirates.
Her Excellency the Minister of State of the UAE Ms Reem Al Hashimi delivered her address to guests at the event which included Fiji’s Heads of Diplomatic Missions based from around the region, as well as diplomatic officials from other foreign missions based in the UAE.
Academic and experienced diplomat Robin Nair will head Fiji's mission to the UAE and as Ambassador, will ensure that the interests of both countries are facilitated through this new embassy.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by officials from Fiji's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade and government's investment body, Investment Fiji.
In July this year, the Prime Minister opened another new embassy in South Korea.
