Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has sent a message of sympathy to the Australian Prime Minister for the twenty eight Australians killed in the recent Malaysian airline crash in Ukraine.
In a message to his Australian counterpart Hon. Tony Abbott, the Fijian Prime Minister extended a message of sympathy and support on behalf of the Fijian Government and the Fijian people.
“Dear Prime Minister Abbott, I am deeply saddened by the loss of life and devastation that has occurred as a result of the catastrophe which beset Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 in Ukraine on 17th July.”
“On behalf of the Government and the People of the Republic of Fiji, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the 28 Australians who lost their lives in this tragedy,” PM Bainimarama said.
“Our condolences also go to the families of the victims, and we pray to Almighty God to give them patience and fortitude, and to grant all the souls eternal rest.”
“Fiji joins the people of Australia and the international community in mourning this sad loss”, the Prime Minister said.
