FIJI’S AMBASSADOR TO THE UAE ACCORDED WITH 50TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL

Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama on behalf of His Excellency the President conferred Fiji’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Naipote Tako Katonitabua with the 50th Independence Anniversary Medal for his remarkable service and contribution to Fiji’s development.

The former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs and Director CATD in Nadave, was honoured to be recognised amongst other outstanding Diplomats who have also been acknowledged for their exemplary dedication to serving Fijians and Fiji in the international arena.

In congratulating Ambassador Katonitabua, Prime Minister Bainimarama said it was befitting for the Head of the UAE Mission to be acknowledged for his contributions to the development of Fiji over the years.

The Head of Government also wished the Mission well in representing Fiji at the World Expo which is one of the oldest and largest international events on the planet, taking place every five years. The Expo 2021 which is currently hosted by Dubai from 1 October, 2021 to 31 March, 2022 will have country pavilions, a first in the history of any World Expo and countries like Fiji will offer their own culturally immersive experiences for Expo visitors.
