The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Honourable Biman Prasad, met with the Director of the Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Center (PFTAC), Mr Samir Jahjah.
The Director congratulated the Honourable Minister on his appointment and assured PFTAC's support in continuing the close collaboration with Fiji. Discussions focused on technical support in the areas of public finance management, macroeconomic analysis, revenue administration, public procurement, internal audit and statistics.
The PFTAC is the technical assistance arm of the International Monetary Fund which was set up in 1993, as IMF's first Technical Assistance centre which currently serves 16 Pacific Island Countries.
