Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola yesterday made a joint call with other Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Singapore.
The Ministers had a very fruitful discussion with the Prime Minister where there was exchange of ideas on development experiences. In his statement, Prime Minister Hsien Loong mentioned of Singapore’s challenges as a small state in terms of scarcity of natural resources and the need to development exchanges with other similar countries as the Pacific Small Island States. A particular area of pressing concern and of common interest highlighted by Prime Minister was climate change.
Foreign Ministers were thankful of the opportunity to explore areas of cooperation and to exchange ideas on strategies to overcome limitations as small island countries.
