Fijian Foreign Minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola met at the United Nations Headquarters today with his Papua New Guinean counterpart, Mr Rimbink Pato.
The Ministers reviewed regional issues and reaffirmed the importance of their two Governments working closely together to achieve regional progress.
Minister Pato congratulated Fiji on the successful conduct of the Fiji general elections and the appointment of the new government. Minister Kubuabola thanked Papua New Guinea for its assistance towards the holding of the elections.
Minister Pato indicated his intention to visit Fiji in November to further progress bilateral issues and Minister Kubuabola assured him of a warm reception.
