FRCA to increase office numbers

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority plans to open a new office in the Western Division next year.

This is following the opening of offices in Savusavu and Rotuma earlier this year.

The new office will be located in Rakiraki and is a result of the request by the people of the town.

FRCA chief executive officer, Jitoko Tikolevu says Rakiraki is a growing town and thus warrants the extension of services of the authority.

“We have been moving around and we saw the need to have offices and provide services in the areas,” Mr Tikolevu said.

“We are starting small in Rakiraki but at least we are taking care of the demand.”

He added the office in Savusavu was faring well, especially with the Hidden Paradise booming in both business and tourism.

“Savusavu was basically a tax office but now it’s a fully fledged office with tax and TIN registration and any other enquiries can now be done from Savusavu,” Mr Tikolevu said.

“The opening of a second FRCA office in Vanua Levu will aid not only the people of Savusavu but also Taveuni, Rabi and the larger Cakaudrove province.

“The tax payers of these places now do not have to go to Labasa to access the FRCA services.”
