SERVING in a career in the civil service spanning 19-years provided an opportunity to Rohit Sharma to receive an award for his exceptional service during an investiture ceremony held at the State House recently.
In receiving his award, Mr Sharma commended the Government for recognising the potential in civil servants and awarding them accordingly.
“I am working for the Ministry for Women, Children and Social Protection as a Principal Welfare Officer in the Northern Division and I really feel proud and honoured to receive this award,” he lauded.
“I am actually over the moon because in the last 19-years of my service, this is the first time I have been awarded this way and I look forward to continuing serving as a public servant in the Ministry of Civil Service.”
“I believe that hard work always pays off so regardless of all the obstacles that come our way, let us believe in God and continue to do our best.”
“My father always used to say “do your best and let God do the rest” and I have not forgotten that and I continue to put in the hard work,” Mr Sharma added.
The father of three said that he has a long way to go and that he looks forward to the journey.
“I would like to thank the ministry for giving me the opportunity to be part of the civil service and my wife for being a pillar of strength. She has always been there to support me and my family even when I had to work late and work on the weekends,” he said.
