UNSG Sails On "UTO NI YALO"

United Nations Secretary-General His Excellency António Guterres and his delegation had the opportunity to sail on the ‘Uto ni Yalo” today.
 
Also part of the crew was the Minister for Fisheries Hon. Semi Koroilavesau and Fiji's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mr Satyendra Prasad.
 
The 72 foot canoe is a double masted traditional Polynesian sailing canoe outfitted with a solar powered propulsion system, built in 2010 in New Zealand.
 
The crew for the “Uto ni Yalo” was praised by the UNSG for their determination in raising awareness on climate change and their sustainable lifestyle.
 
Crew Representative Ravesi Waqanibaravi briefed the UN Secretary-General H.E Guterres about the boat and some of the activities they undertake which is centered around creating awareness on climate change in the communities.
