This is part of the new strategy to deepen people-to-people relations, as well as promote trade and investment between Fiji and Japan.

The initial focus of these first level meetings is to introduce Fiji and its trade, investment, cultural, social and tourism attractions to the Governor of each of the Prefectural Government visited,” HE Mataitoga said from Japan today.

“The Governor will then mobilize support along the lines agreed to during the meeting with FET.”

Seminars will also be organized through arrangement with local Chamber of Commerce and Industries in the Prefectures visited.

To date there has been three meetings held with Governor Tomikazu Fukuda of Tochigi Prefecture, Governor Shigefumi Matsuzawa of Kanagawa Prefecture and Governor Kiyoshi Ueda of Saitama Prefecture.
