Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has congratulated Turkey as it celebrates the 88th anniversary of becoming a republic.
In his letter to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Fijian Prime Minister stated: “On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Fiji, I extend my warmest congratulations to you and all the citizens of Turkey on the 88th anniversary of the founding of the modern Republic of Turkey on October 29”.
He noted that the Government of Turkey has in recent times assisted Fiji through various assistance, something which the Fijian Government was grateful for.
“Your great country has supported developments in Fiji this past year through generous technical assistance in the area of renewable energy generation. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for this support,” Commodore Bainimarama said.
The Prime Minister said Fiji wished to further strengthen bilateral relations that continued to strengthen between the two countries.
“I wish to take the opportunity to reaffirm the Fijian Government’s desire to consolidate the friendly and cooperative relations that now exist between our two countries for greater mutual benefit,” Commodore Bainimarama added.
“Please accept, Prime Minister, my best wishes for your good health and happiness, and for the peace and prosperity of the people and the nation of Turkey,”
