Fire investigation training for Firefighters, Police and FEA

FIRE INVESTIGATION TRAINING FOR FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE AND FEA

National Fire Authority (NFA) officers in Suva underwent fire investigation training course at the Suva fire station in Walu Bay, Suva today.

The fire investigation training course was conducted by NFA fire investigation officer Mr Shamsheer Nabi. Eighteen officers from NFA stations in the Central/Eastern division, two officers from the Fiji Police

Force and one staff from the Fiji Electricity Authority in Suva underwent this course.

The fire investigation course was for the first time organized in the Central division involving the firefighters from NFA stations in Suva, Valelevu, Nausori, Fiji Police Force and the FEA.

NFA Divisional Fire Officer Central/Eastern Mr Qionilau Moceitai said “the main purpose of this course is to help the participants to learn the basic procedures of conducting fire investigation.

“This course will further upgrade fire investigation skills of Fiji’s firefighters, Police Force and the FEA. NFA is grateful to the Fiji Police Force and FEA for allowing their officers to attend the fire investigation course at the Suva fire station.

“The fire investigation course started last week in the North and we had a total of fifteen participants. This is the second course which is conducted at the Suva fire station involving the officers from the NFA,

Police and the FEA in the Central/Eastern division,” Moceitai said.

“The fire investigation course will end next week for the officers in the Western division.”
