The Fiji National University held its first ever graduation ceremony at the Vodafone Arena this morning.
Vice Chancellor, Dr Ganesh Chand said the occasion was a unique one because graduates from all its schools gathered for the ceremony.
“It is the first graduation of the FNU as a whole, in which students from all five colleges are graduating together,” he said.
“This is a great day for the national institution that is set to become Fiji’s premier university.”
Dr Ganesh said this day was a result of students dedication and commitment towards their goals in life.
“Today is the culmination of hard work, toil and perseverance of all graduating students in attaining the qualification they aimed for,” he said.
“With this comes the hope that it will now open new doors for income earning opportunities as well as for further studies.”
Mr Chand said this was the largest integration of graduating students from different fields.
He acknowledged the contribution of the ministries of education, agriculture, forestry, primary sectors and other stakeholders.
