Fisheries and Forests unveil new logo

22/12/2010

The Ministry of Fisheries and Forests has unveiled its new logo under the guidance of the Minister for Primary Industries Joketani Cokanasiga.

Permanent Secretary Commander Viliame Naupoto said that it was good to have a new logo so it could tie both the Fisheries and the Forests department together.

“The new look logo is wonderful to the many wonderful things that have come about from the two departments recently,” he said.

The new logo depicts a tree, fish and a rope, which has been placed to add colour just like the olive leaves used as a sign of peace.

“The rope has been put in there because it is used by both departments,” Commander Naupoto said.

He added that through the new logo the ministry hoped to work more closely with each other in terms of monitoring and awareness.

“There is a need to move together in a more collaborated approach to fisheries and forestry issues,” Commander Naupoto added.
