The Minister for Education Mr Filipe Bole says all textbooks supplied free by Government are to remain in schools after use.
“Our children and parents need to know that all free textbooks supplied by the Government are to be kept at school for incoming students. All schools are aware of this system,” Mr Bole said.
“Teachers are advised to monitor the condition of these books because they need to be in use for five years.
“There are 56 titles altogether covering classes one to eight. Parents who plan to buy their children’s own copy may do so, but there is no guarantee that bookshops will be selling these 56 titles.
“Head teachers are advised not to call for unnecessary supplementary textbooks apart from the list endorsed by the ministry because this will create more financial burdens on parents/guardians.”
