The Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry, Hon. Charan Jeath Singh, today commissioned the newly constructed fence at the Vatukarasa Markaz in Sigatoka, a project delivered through the Multi-Ethnic Grant Program.

Minister Singh said the fencing is more than just a boundary, describing it as a symbol of respect, protection, and dignity for the Muslim community in Vatukarasa. He noted that the project will provide peace of mind while ensuring the Markaz remains a place of prayer, learning, and gathering without disturbance.

The Ministry provided $7,000 worth of fencing materials, while the Vatukarasa Markaz Committee contributed around $2,500 in labour, ensuring shared ownership and sustainability.

President of the Vatukarasa Markaz, Mr. Nansan Ali, thanked the Coalition Government for its timely support, saying the project brings dignity, cleanliness, and peace of mind to the community.

The Minister reaffirmed the Coalition Government’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that all communities, regardless of faith or ethnicity, have the opportunity to thrive in peace, dignity, and harmony.
