Members of the public have commended the creation of Government Service Centres (GSC) around Fiji.
During the Public Service Day held this week, Public Service permanent secretary Mr Parmesh Chand heard firsthand the success of the Government service centre in servicing needs of the public.
Mr Joeli Koroitokonirewa, who visited the Suva centre, said the centres have been quite helpful in providing services for people especially those seeking assistance of a Justice of Peace.
Other ministries that showcased their services on the day included Finance, Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority, the Elections Office including the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
In the capital city, an estimate of 6,000 people visited the ministries of Health, Education, Youth, Immigration, Forestry, Public Service Commission, Agriculture, Provincial Development, Defence and the Prime Minister’s Office.
Customer feedback survey forms received at the Suva Government Service Centre rated the service delivery highly and friendliness of staff as excellent.
Government service centres located in Lautoka, Labasa, Nausori and Suva register complaints and concerns of citizens and visitors. It also provides Justice of Peace services, dissemination of Government information, referencing of Births, Death and Marriage Certificates, Coordinate Promotion of Services and Ministerial Exhibitions, Assist with online application of scholarships, assist in online application of exam results and provide tourist information.
