The Home Finance Company Ltd announced a package for the flood victims affected in the Western Division offering a reduction in their interest rates to 4.5 per cent.
The Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General and Minister for Industry and Trade, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said those affected by the recent floods can apply for a loan to HFC at 4.5 per cent interest per annum fixed for five years.
“Anybody whether it is a farmer or business that needs to rebuild, renovate (or) replace can take loan of up to $1 million and repay in ten years”, Minister Sayed-Khaiyum said.
The Acting Prime Minister said other institutions in the market charge interest at a higher rate and HFC’s offer to assist flood victims is welcomed by the Government.
Next Saturday, the HFC will be based at the Sigatoka market kiosk offering services to the general public on the reduced interest rates. The following Saturday, HFC will be at the FNPF in Ba offering similar services for the flood victims.
