HARD ROCK CAFÉ SUPPORT FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

18/05/2012

The Hard Rock Café is organising through their franchise in Tokyo, Japan a fundraising drive to assist the victims of the recent flooding in Fiji.

The company’s initiative to hold the fundraising is a direct response and appreciation of Fiji’s assistance to students from Tohuku who were affected by last year’s earthquake and tsunami.

Fiji is currently hosting 11 Japanese students who are studying at Adi Cakobau School (2), Nasinu Secondary School (3), and Fiji National University (6) for one year.

The students are here following an offer of assistance by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama to his Japanese counterpart last year.

Mr Shinato Ryu, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Hard Rock Café in Tokyo visited the Embassy of Fiji in Tokyo yesterday to formally advise the Fiji  mission that their five outlets in Tokyo are now organising a fundraising drive to assist the victims of the recent flooding in Fiji.

The company learnt about the flooding and the flood appeal after visiting the Embassy’s website. They have also indicated that they will present the funds collected, to the Embassy by the end of May.

The Hard Rock Café is also encouraging their staff and branches around the world to contribute to the Appeal.
