08/06/2012

Hard Rock Café President, Mr Ken Shimizu and the Managing Director, Mr. Masaharu Oka on Thursday, 7 May 2012 donated ¥1,000,000 to the Fiji Embassy in Tokyo towards Fiji flood victims.

The company was encouraged to assist in recognition and appreciation of Fiji’s assistance to students from the Tohuku region who were badly affected by last year’s earthquake and tsunami.

The company started its campaign for this worthy cause in mid- May this year after they found out from the Fiji Embassy Tokyo website about the flooding and thus the need to raise funds to assist the victims came about.

Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan His Excellency Isikeli Mataitoga will be handing this donation to the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama in Fiji next week.

Hard Rock Café is a global food chain with its main office in Florida in the United States and there are 150 branches all over the world, with 7 operating in Japan and 1 in Denarau, Fiji.
