His Excellency, the President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, left Nadi for Birmingham in the United Kingdom today (23/7/22), where he will represent Fiji at the opening ceremony of the XXII Commonwealth Games, and subsequently travel to visit Fijian peacekeepers serving in the Middle East.
Whilst in the UK, His Excellency will meet the Fijian High Commissioner Jitoko Tikolevu and the Fijian diaspora.
The Presidential visit is also the first after the COVID pandemic forced lockdowns the world over.
President Katonivere is expected to return on Tuesday, 16 August.
The Chief Justice, Honourable Justice Kamal Kumar, will act as President until President Katonivere’s return.
