HEAD OF STATE SPREADS CHRISTMAS CHEERS

25/12/2012

His Excellency, the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau spent most of his day today spreading Christmas cheers and joys with those who are away from their families or loved ones.

His Excellency visited the Navua Hospital, the Naboro Prison, Korovou Prison, Father Law Home, St Giles Hospital, Senior Citizens Home in Samabula, Home of Compassion in Tamavua, Colonial War Memorial Hospital and the Suva Private Hospital.

To those residing or working at these institutions, the visit by the Head of State brought encouragement and joy during this festive season.

Sister Mere Lauwai of Father Law Home in Lami said they were honored and pleased to have the President grace their Home.

“We are very happy to see the President come and visit the less fortunate ones. Most of the families do not come to meet the residents here often and so the President’s visit on Christmas Day is indeed a special one,” Sister Lauwai said.

“His Excellency Ratu Epeli pays a surprise visit to the Home every year for Christmas and that is why the residents have become very familiar with him. We are truly grateful to the President for his visit today.”
