Fiji has an ambitious goal on renewable energy and its efforts to fight climate change.
Korean Ambassador to Fiji Madam Shinhee CHO echoed these sentiments during her courtesy visit to the Minister of Forestry Hon. Osea Naiqamu at his office in Suva today.
“Fiji’s proactive effort and commitment to fight against climate change is heading in the right direction,” Madam Shinhee CHO said.
Madam Shinhee CHO said the Korean Government also considers climate change and renewable energy as important issues and she believes there is a great potential to widen the cooperation in these areas between the two countries in the future.
“It was a very fruitful meeting and it was also good to meet the Minister Naiqamu in person especially when we are about to establish the platform for cooperation.”
Madam Shinhee CHO hopes to have more meetings as such in the future which would result in more tangible outcomes.
On the political and economic side, Madam Shinhee CHO views Fiji as a very dynamic country with noticeable progress and development.
Since her appointment as Korea’s Ambassador to Fiji in January 2018, Madam Shinhee CHO finds Fiji a very beautiful and peaceful country blessed with rich natural resources.
Minister Naiqamu was honored to meet Madam Shinhee CHO and hopes Government through his ministry can work with the Korean Government in its efforts to fight climate change and also its focus on renewable energy.
