The President, His Excellency, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere launched the revitalised Healthy Island Initiative in Kiobo Village, Bua yesterday (30/09/22).
The Healthy Island initiative was established during the first Pacific Health Ministers meeting in Yanuca in 1995, with its vision of healthy living.
His Excellency said there was a growing concern about the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) mortality rate, and there was a need for community members to practice healthy living, to ensure longevity.
Kiobo Village has been declared the first Health Promoting Village under the revitalised program.
This initiative will be rolled out to other villages and communities in the other divisions.
