HON. SIGARARA RECEIVES ASSISTANCE FOR VUNICAGI

The Assistant Minister for Rural, Maritime Development and Disaster Management Hon. Jale Sigarara today received 30 dozens of bread from Seaqaqa Shopping Centre (SSC) and Kashmir Transport Limited (KTL) to assist families in the COVID-19 lockdown community of Vunicagi in Dreketi, Macuata.
 
Hon. Sigarara acknowledged the kind gesture shown by the two companies for the community that is on lockdown for 28 days.
 
“It’s the work of a Good Samaritan and on behalf of Government, we thank you sincerely for your support,” said Hon. Sigarara.
 
“Government cannot fight COVID-19 alone. It is a collaborative effort which ensures that we will overcome the pandemic together.”
 
The 30 dozens of bread was distributed by Hon. Sigarara to families in the COVID-19 lockdown area in Dreketi, Macuata.
 
Most of the residents in these settlements are livestock farmers, vegetable farmers and rice farmers.
 
Meanwhile, a total of 458 individuals have now been screened in this settlement.
 
For essential support services, the Northern COVID-19 Taskforce team has coordinated mobile supermarkets to facilitate the needs and requests from Fijians in the the lockdown areas.
