The Minister for Women, Children & Social Protection – Honorable Lynda Tabuya arrived into Majuro, Marshall Islands alongside her Pacific Women counterparts for the 15th Triennial Conference of Pacific Women, the 8th Meeting of Pacific Minister for Women and the Pacific Islands Forum Women Leaders meeting from the 22nd to 26th July, 2024.

Every three (3) years, leaders, representatives from Government, civil society organizations, and development partners from the Pacific region gather to assess advancements in gender equality.

Known as the Triennial Conference of Pacific Women, this gathering marks a crucial milestone in the region’s ongoing pursuit of gender parity. Since its inception more than 40 years ago, and the adoption of the Pacific Platform for Action for Gender Equality and Women’s Human Rights 2018 – 2030 (PPA), the Triennial Conference of Pacific Women is today the primary mechanism for monitoring the progress outlined in the Pacific Platform for Action.
All invited Dignitaries and delegates were hosted to a welcome dinner on Saturday evening.

Hon. Tabuya ahead of the conference met with the Fijian diaspora for a church service on Sunday and was accorded a traditional welcome thereafter. Hon. Tabuya thanked the Fijian Community- past and present for their resilience and valuable contributions to the Republic of Marshall Islands as well as supporting their family members back home in Fiji.

Honorable Tabuya is accompanied by Acting Director Women, Emily Kamoe-Veiqati and the Delegation aims to provide meaningful interventions; representing Fiji during the week-long event.
