HONOUR YOUR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS – BALA

29/10/2022

A total of 50 selected Fijian workers under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme and the Recognized Seasonal Employers (RSE) Scheme for New Zealand were reminded by the Employment Minister, Parveen Kumar Bala, to honour the employment contracts that they have signed with their respective employers yesterday (28/10/22).

“Please keep in mind that your employment contract is a legally binding agreement between you and your employer.”

“Also do not breach your visa conditions. Those that breach this understanding will be withdrawn from the scheme.”

Minister Bala also reminded all workers of their responsibilities under this initiative and which is to promote the Fijian Brand of dedicated and disciplined workers that will create more job openings for other potential Fijians.

“It’s not an easy task to send Fijians for overseas employment opportunities. It requires a lot of effort, dedication, and commitment.”

"Thus, do things right and remain focused at all times while in Australia or New Zealand. Respect the various employers that have engaged you; respect your co-workers; respect the members of the community you live in, be disciplined at all times but most importantly, remember your loved ones and families back home," he added.

Minister Bala thanked the approved employers: JBS, Health-X, Bundaberg Sugar Ltd, Pickers & Pruners, Seeka, LSA, SW Labour Solutions, PlantGrowPick under the PALM Scheme and employers: Seasonal Solution Co-Op Ltd; Mr Apple; Gourmet Paprika under the New Zealand Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Work Scheme for their continued trust in our Fijian workers.

These workers are expected to depart next week.
